When children are engaged in activities, it might look like:
Following directions
Actively communicating or interacting with a peer or adult
Using materials relevant to an activity
Playing with a peer
Children are less likely to engage in challenging behavior when they know what to do, how to do it, and what is expected. Both expectations and rules are important—they are connected but serve different purposes.
