Billie Hightree Sitzmann has served ESU #1 as a School Psychologist since August of 2004. She has a
BS Degree with a Double Major in Psychology and Sociology, MA Degree in Community Agency Counseling and a Ed.S. in School Psychology. She is a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner. She is also a member of the National Association of School Psychologists, Nebraska School Psychology Association and American Counseling Association. Billie worked at Heartland Counseling Services in South Sioux City, NE as a Mental Health Therapist for five years. She also worked as a School Psychologist at the AEA 12 in Sioux City Iowa, for two years before joining ESU #1 staff.
Billie and her husband, Dave, reside in Hinton, Iowa.

Bobbi Jo Hightree serves ESU #1 as a School Psychologist. She has a

Heather Barron-Galvan
serves ESU #1 as a School Psychology Intern. She is a School Psychology graduate student from the University of South Dakota. Her Bachelor of Arts degree, with an emphasis on Diversity, is from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. She is a member of the National School Psychology Association, Nebraska School Psychology Association and the South Dakota School Counselor’s Association.
Heather's has a husband named Ron and a baby girl named Ivie, who was born in June, 2007. She lives in Yankton, SD and in her free time, she enjoys cooking, spending time with her family and traveling to Las Vegas.

Katie Boyle serves ESU #1 as a School Psychologist and Special Education Consultant. She received her BA in Psychology from Briar Cliff University along an Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa. She is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists and Nebraska School Psychology Association.
Katie completed her School Psychology Internship at Heartland Area Education Agency 11 in Johnston, Iowa and has previously been employed by Omaha Public Schools as a School Psychologist. This is her first year serving ESU #1.
Katie resides in Sioux City, Iowa with her husband, Kelly and daughter, Lauryn. She currently serves the Pender Community School District.

Leah Moritz serves ESU #1 as a School Psychologist and Special Education
Consultant. She has a BS Degree with a Major in Psychology and a Specialist
Degree in Education in the area of School Psychology. She is a member of
the National Association of School Psychologists, Nebraska School Psychology
Association and Nebraska Association of Special Education Supervisors. She
started working for ESU #1 in August of 2000.
Leah serves on the statewide committee for Response to Intervention (RTI)
and facilitates the Improving Learning for Children with Disabilities (ILCD)
process for all school districts in the ESU #1 area. She writes the NDE/ESU
Collaborative Grant, the CSPD grant, and the SCIP grant and provides
training and consultation regarding special education issues to school
districts in northeast Nebraska. She also serves the Homer School District as
their School Psychologist.
Leah resides in Sioux City, Iowa, with her husband (Ryan) and three children
(Sam, Ben and Maggie).

Mike Scheuring, Psychologist |
Mike Scheuring has served ESU #1 as a School Psychologist since 2000 He has been in the field of education since 1973, teaching mainly elementary and special education before becoming a school psychologist. He has worked as a teacher of autistic children and children with behavior disorder. Other duties he has performed include Title I director, Special Education director and school administration. He has also worked as a reading specialist.
Mike has been married for twenty-nine years and has four children and one grandchild.

Roberta Mehrer serves ESU#1 as a School Psychology Intern. She has a BS Degree in Elementary Education and is currently working on her Specialist Degree in School Psychology through The University of South Dakota. Roberta is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists, South Dakota Association of School Psychologists, and the Nebraska School Psychology Association.
Roberta lives in Dakota Dunes with her husband and two sons.

Ron Lorenzen serves ESU #1 as a Psychologist and is also a Co-Coordinator for the department. Ron graduated from SDSU in 1975 with an MEd in counseling. He worked as a psychologist in Wyoming from 1980 to 1987 before begining my work with ESU #1, where he has worked ever since. Ron is a member of the Nebraska School Psychology Association and the Nebraska Education Association.
Ron lives with his wife, LaVonne, on an acerage near Yankton where they have horses, dogs, cats, and ducks.

Sheila Jensen serves ESU #1 as a School Psychologist and Special Education Consultant. This is her second year at ESU #1. She is currently attending the University of South Dakota where she is pursuing her Ph.D. in School Psychology. She writes the NDE/ESU Collaborative Grant and the CSPD grant and provides training and consultation regarding special education issues to school districts in northeast Nebraska. She also serves the UmoN HoN Nation School District as their School Psychologist. She is affiliated with both the National Association of School Psychologists and the Nebraska Association of School Psychologists.
